Everyone who participates on NFBA is entitled to do so in an enjoyable and safe environment. NFBA has a moral and legal obligation to ensure that, when given responsibility for young people, coaches and external experts provide them with the highest possible standard of care. NFBA is committed to devising and implementing policies so that everyone involved in NFBA accepts their responsibilities to safeguard children from harm and abuse. This means to follow procedures to protect children and report any concerns about their welfare to appropriate authorities. The aim of the policy is to promote good practice, providing children and young people with appropriate safety/protection whilst in the care of NFBA and to allow staff and external experts to make informed and confident responses to specific child protection issues. A child/young person is defined as a person under the age of 18 (Children's Act 1989)

Policy Statement

NFBA is committed to the following:

  1. The welfare of the child is paramount

  2. All children, whatever their age, culture, ability, gender, language, racial origin, religious belief and/or sexual identity should be able to participate in cricket in a fun and safe environment

  3. Taking all reasonable steps to protect children from harm, discrimination and degrading treatment and to respect their rights, wishes and feelings

  4. All suspicions and allegations of poor practice or abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately

  5. All NFBA coaches/external experts who work with children will be recruited with regard to their suitability for that responsibility, and will be provided with guidance and/or training in good practice and child protection procedures

  6. Working in partnership with parents and children is essential for the protection of children

  7. Monitor and review the policy and procedures

The implementation of procedures should be regularly monitored and reviewed. The policy should be reviewed every 3 years or whenever there is a major change in the organisation or in relevant legislation.

By making payment and/or starting with NFBA, you confirm that you are the parent or guardian of the child listed within the booking and have custody and control of him/her and you confirm that:

  • You have read and accept all of our terms and conditions

  • You accept that we will only administer prescribed drugs, e.g. antibiotics or inhaler, to your child during the camp with your verbal and written consent provided at the start of the Academy

  • You consent that we may call upon emergency medical advice for your child if an incident requires it

  • You accept that there is an inherent risk of injury in our cricket programme

  • You irrevocably consent to: your child's participation in their cricket programme, your child being photographed whilst at the 'NATIONAL FAST BOWLING ACADEMY', and that such photographs can be used in future promotional material produced by 'NATIONAL FAST BOWLING ACADEMY', and data relating to your child collected by 'NATIONAL FAST BOWLING ACADEMY' in connection with the 'NATIONAL FAST BOWLING ACADEMY' being used for the purposes of associated promotion with 'NATIONAL FAST BOWLING ACADEMY'

  • You agree to your details being held by NFBA for the sole purpose of communication. These details will NOT be used for any other purpose.

  • You accept that you must inform us on the application form that your child suffers from anaphylaxis. We will then follow the procedure we have in place for this

  • You consent to trained first aid personnel caring for your child in the event of an accident.


Responsibilities

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Payment and/or your signature constitute your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

  1. Following receipt of your offer form and/or payment, NFBA will send you an email to confirm your booking.

  2. Neither NFBA nor any of its staff nor persons involved with the organisation of the NFBA accepts liability for any losses or additional expenses incurred by any participant or their parents or guardians due to injury or sickness, strikes, war or any other cause beyond their control, whilst at the Payment and/or your signature constitute your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

  3. Injury, Holiday, Illness. Where possible NFBA will try to accommodate attendees unable to attend specific training sessions by attempting to host them at an alternate session. Whilst this is NOT the responsibility of NFBA should sessions be missed, NFBA will be sympathetic towards the missing of sessions. It may not always be possible for NFBA to be able to achieve this due to full capacity elsewhere or the alternate course dates being unsuitable.

  4. Cancellations to any NFBA session - NFBA will always re-arrange sessions if for any reason (such as coaches illness, COVID or other issues) they have to be postponed. If this session can’t be attended NFBA will not be liable for any compensation.

  5. NFBA has an ongoing, progressive and elite programme and as such reserves the right to modify a programme due to unforeseen circumstances.

  6. If a parent or guardian would like to make a complaint to NFBA then they should contact the office by email or phone. The parent or guardian will be contacted within 72 hours of the complaint being lodged, but the complaints procedure may take up to 2 weeks. A full and detailed copy of our complaints procedure is available to parents or guardians on request.

  7. Full payment must be received prior to the start of the Academy, failure to do so can result in the loss of the place on the course as well as a loss of payment. Any arrangement for a split payment, must be adhered to maintain a place in the Academy. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from NFBA.
